Site Visits A site visit is optional and provides the potential resident with the opportunity to share some basic information about herself. This visit allows the prospective client to ask questions and tour the facility.
Admission Procedure Admissions are generally conducted from Monday to Thursday between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, and on Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The admission date and time will be established through mutual agreement among Peaceful Place staff, the client, and/or the legal guardian (if the client is under 18), along with any cooperating agencies involved in the client’s placement.
Clients must be at least 18 years of age and pregnant during the admission process. At the time of admission, agreements and contracts will be signed. Clients will receive a Statement of Client Rights and an information packet about Peaceful Place. It is essential for clients to bring specific items for their stay; a checklist is available for reference.

This includes a representative from the Department of Social Services (DSS) if the client is in their custody.
Residents of North Carolina can apply for the State Maternity Fund through their local county Department of Social Services or any North Carolina State Licensed Adoption Agency.

Clients without private insurance must apply for Medicaid and present a current Medicaid card each month. Prenatal care will be provided at an OB/GYN clinic or health department, and hospital care will be available at either Presbyterian Hospital or Carolina Medical Center, depending on the client’s preference.
